2 years down forever to go. :)

Yesterday, Tavis and I celebrated our 2nd year of marriage. Love is indescribable. We have had our ups and downs, but life is fantastic, especially now that we have our beautiful baby girl to complete our life.

Yesterday to celebrate (to say the least) was eventful. We had already planned on going and taking Peyton's 9 month pictures, and as we were getting ready for that.... Our Power got shut off! *sigh*
With no money to pay it, we continued to get ready and went to take her pictures. After taking her pictures we walked to the power company, to see if we could make a partial. With no luck we then walked to Community Action to ask for help, But there was so much paperwork we decided we would wait til we really needed the help and just got an advance from Tavis's work.
By the time we were done, we were exhausted. With power back on we called up Grandpa A to babysit and went to Zupa's followed by a pleasant walk along the river trail. It was so nice.

I love Tavis more than anything. He is my missing piece, the key to my heart, my absolute soul mate, without a doubt in my heart or mind he is the one I want to spend the rest of my life with, I see forever with him. :) I can't wait for forever.

Peyton is 9 months

Peyton turned 9 months on the 25th, and today we went to Peyton's 9 month well child check. Peyton now weighs 21 lbs 3.5 oz (86%), and she is 28.2 in long (72%). She is crawling, furniture cruising, walking while holding our fingers, is able to lower herself without support, but still has gotten standing on her own for very long.

9 things I love about my baby girl:

1- How she always wants to walk, but is afraid to do it herself.
2- The way she eats her baby food it always makes me laugh.
3- Her favorite person is daddy, she loves playing with him.
4- Her babbling, we have very funny conversations.
5- The way she knows what the camera is and what to do when it's pointed at her.
6- How she gives me this huge grin when I get her in the mornings from her crib.
7- On the rare occasion she cuddles with me, it's so adorable.
8- When she gets attitude and pouts her lip. OMG its so laughable.
9- Her curiosity, it makes me so happy, and i love love love it.

I love love love her. :-D

Brown Sugar Chicken

Last friday night, My older sister Jenn, Her husband and 2 of their 3 boys came down to dinner.
I had been digging up cool new recipes to try and decided on this one. After we all enjoyed it and thought it was amazing, I decided it was one the definitely needed to be shared.

Brown Sugar Chicken
Cortesy of realmomkitchen.com

Ingredients:

1 cup Brown Sugar
2 Tbsp. Honey Dijon Mustard
2 Cloves Garlic, finely minced
1 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Paprika
1/4 tsp. Black Pepper
1/4 tsp. Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
1 cup Lemon Lime soda (sprite, 7-up, etc)
1 1/2 Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts

Utensils:
-Mixing bowl
-Whisk
-Gallon size ziploc bag
-Grill

Directions:

1: Mix brown sugar, honey dijon mustard, minced garlic, salt, paprika, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and sprite in bowl. Whisking until sugar is mostly or completely dissolved. (I couldn't get it to dissolve completely)

2: Pour into a gallon size ziploc bag, Add chicken, marinade in fridge for at least an hour, turning over halfway through. (I marinaded for 2 hours turning it over at 30 minute intervals, Tasted amazing)

3: Carefully remove chicken from bag and place on grill over medium heat until fully cooked. (I saved some of the marinade and would periodically squirt some over the chicken while it was cooking to keep it moist.)
*It is also possible to bake in oven, directions for baking are:
Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 min or until fully cooked on a baking sheet.

Family Update

Hey everyone,

So it has been way too long since I last updated, Here is what's going on with the Albertson Family. :)

Tavis:
Tavis has been working hard throughout the summer for the carnival, and will be starting a 45 day show for the halloween season. We are waiting to hear about any winter work, Crossing our fingers something pops up. Otherwise Tavis is good.

Whitney:
I have had an excellent summer, spending time outside with Peyton, swimming and etc. I started school 2 weeks ago, finally finishing high school. Something I have been putting off for far to long. I am excited to graduate and have a high school diploma. Still debating on whither or not I want to go to college.. But we will see when the time comes.

Peyton:
Well she has grown the most since my last post. She is now 8 1/2 months old, She is sitting on her own, crawling, pulling her self up to stand, she is walking in her walker and while holding our hands, she is saying sounds like ba, ma, mum, and da.
She has had quite the summer and I can't believe how big she is getting. We have started planning her first birthday, I can't wait.

So that is what is going on with us. :)

Our first family vacation [08.10-08.14]

Sorry this post is late

A few weeks ago Tavis, Peyton, and I had our first vacation has a family. We didn't do anything big. Basically Peyton and I went to meet up with Tavis who was working in Duchesne for the week. Tavis had already been gone for 2 weeks so we were really excited to see him. We got there late on Wednesday night so, Peyton and I saw daddy real fast then went and got a hotel room and went to bed. The next day Tavis didn't have to be to work til 5 that night so we spent the day walking around Duchesne. (If you haven't been there, all you need to know is there are no traffic lights, it's really small.) We spent some time walking around the booths set up at the county fair, and then enjoyed some time at Strawberry River. Which was located right behind the arena/ carnival area. Then Peyton and I went back to the hotel to nap, while Tavis got ready for work. Once Peyton was all napped up, we walked back over to the carnival and we let Peyton ride one of the kiddy rides and she loved it. More or less that was the end of Day 2.

Friday morning we packed up and went out to Starvation Reservoir to spend the day playing at the beach. Peyton loved it. It amazes me how much she loves water even when it is freezing water. When the evening rolled around we packed all our stuff back up and went back to the carnival. I was so excited when we got back one of my most favorite carnie families was there. The Fiechko's, Janelle, Levi, and their two kids. So Peyton and I spent the night with them. Then we found out that a room became available at the bed and breakfast, so we went back to the lake packed up our camping stuff (we had planned on camping), and went over to the B&B and pretty much passed out right then.

Saturday, Tavis had to work the full day, so it was just me and Peyton. We mostly just walked around the booths, hung out with the carnies, and when Tavis got a break we went and checked out the little petting zoo. After her afternoon nap, back at the fair, Tavis and I decided to spray Peyton's mohawk hot pink, It was so much fun. Tavis also took Peyton down the big inflatable slide and she loved that. I can't wait til she is bigger and can enjoy it more.

To end our awesome vacation we got to enjoy one of the most amazing fire work shows. My favorite part about my Duchesne trips is this because the set them up on top of the plateau, right behind the arena. It is really one of the most amazing firework shows.

All in all it was very exciting, and lots of fun.
