My First Mothers Day

Been thinking a lot about mothers day, and i have mostly been remembering my first mothers day.

It was May 2007, I had placed Daxton 5 months before, and was missing him. My first mothers day was coming up, and I was so unsure of how to feel. Not to mention I was also bummed out that my high school senior prom was the day before mothers day, and I had not been asked to go. At this time I was living with my older sister Jenn, and her two sons. The oldest was 6 and the youngest was a day younger than Daxton. Well one night at dinner, I was relaying all of these feelings to Jenn, who had been such a support to me through my pregnancy. When I told her I was a little bummed I would not be going to prom, her oldest son looked at me, and very calmly and serious like says, "Aunt Whitney, I will take you to prom." Even though I was sure he had no idea what prom was, it melted my heart. I smiled at him and told him no that would be ok, but Jenn on the other hand became super excited. "No, it's perfect! He already has a tux, we'll get you a dress"
That's how my 6 year old nephew became the best prom date I ever had. I remember Jenn taking me to get my nails done. It was the first time i had ever had acrylic nails, and the little asain guy did a glitter finish on the french tip. I borrowed a really pretty purple dress from my friend brooke, and then Jenn topped it off with getting me a tiara to wear with my dress. On the day of the prom we went to play up the canyon with our prom group. Afterwards we went and got ready, I picked us up a boutinerre and corsage. He was a hit at the dance. I remember him break dancing and everyone enjoying it. Has cheesy and lame has it was having a 6 year old be my date, I had the best night and it really helped me heal and forget for a bit that night the pain.

The next morning was mothers day. I woke up to a wonderful mothers day card from Jenn, I still have it in a box. Just thinking about it now brings a smile to my face.

Jenn you made me feel special and loved. Reminded me that even though I was no longer Daxton's mom I would always be his mother. It was ok to hurt for him cause he would always have a special place in my heart. Thank you for giving me such a wonderful first mothers day. Who have always been there for me, the best sister I could ever ask for. You are definately a mother I look up to and hope to be like. I love you Jenn.

This year I am celebrating my 7th birthmothers day, which for those who didn't know is a national holiday celebrated the day before mothers day. Honoring all the women who put their children before themselves, making a great sacrifice, and placing a child in a forever family. I miss and love daxton with all my heart, and wish his mom a happy mother's day.

I am also celebrating my 3rd mothers day, Peyton has been such a wonderful blessing in my life and I am so lucky o be her mom. I cannot wait to meet our newest little one in just 19 weeks.

Spring is here

This last week has been one of the best.
Monday was Tavis' 26th birthday and we enjoyed it with a picnic on the living room floor and some Cheesecake to end it off.
Tuesday, Peyton went and played at Grandma's while Tavis and I went to Tucano's for birthday dinner with our dear friends Kimmie and Kevin (It was also Kevin's 21st birthday on Sunday). We had so much fun and enjoyed some playtime at Provo Beach Resort too. It was a great night.
Wednesday was a fairly lazy day before I had to go to work.
Thursday was the best day. It started off an early morning for all of us. We were all up and ready for the day by 9am which is a miracle for Tav and Peyton. I went off to run some quick errands while Tavis and Peyton had breakfast. When I got done Tavis and Peyton met me at the bus stop and we went to the park for several hours to play in the wonderful sun. Then we went on a walk to get some supplies for spring cleaning, came home and had Mac and cheese, followed by some much needed naps by myself and the munchkin. It was my one day off this week and I was really glad I got to spend it with my cute family. After naps we opened the windows and worked on some spring cleaning (which is really hard with a two year old).
Friday I had more work, Which actually was a really awesome night at Blue Rock.
Saturday unfortunately I had Morning sickness most the day, but my night still ended well with the three of us going on a night walk in the nice spring air.
And today is great because it marks 5 years that I have been blessed to have my best friend a constant part of my life. I love you Tavis Darren Albertson!

I am so thankful for all I have. My life is exhausting and I know to some of my friends and family things seem like it's harder, but I have a beautiful healthy 2 year old girl, a little life growing inside of me, a husband who loves me unconditionally, a roof over my head, and work opportunities available to me. I have a God who is loving and full of grace and continues to bless me. I have friends I can always count on. I am extremely blessed, and for all of the hardships I go through I am thankful for all I have.

2013!

I really should have updated sooner, but life has been so crazy!
2012 was good, we moved into a new apartment, I graduated high school, began and completed college, made amazing new friends, found a birth mom group that has really helped me, I've gotten to know myself better, my husband better, and my daughter better. I heard from someone who I had been waiting along time to hear from, which was definitely a highlight of my year.

2013 has had a great beginning I graduated College, Got a job in my field at my extern site, and found out baby #2 is on it's way. We are all getting super excited.

Really not a whole ton to update on.... Should really get better at this haha. :)

Family Update

I really should update more often and I probably will now that blogger has an iPad app (thanks Whitney Ferron).

Anyway right now there really isn't much to update on, has a family not a lot is going on.
I finished up school at the end of October, and began my externship on the first. It has been such an incredible and crazy learning experience and I have been enjoying it so much. Besides that, I am still working at Teavana, and that's about it.

Tavis just finished up working for the summer and is currently taking care of Peyton while I'm balancing massive amounts of hours between working and externing. I am so thankful he is able to do that for us, Peyton loves having her daddy around to play with her.

Peyton is growing up so fast! She is 22 months old and I can't believe it. She loves to talk, she always uses please, thank you and welcome (in her own sweet speech). Her new favorite is saying "cuuu" (cute). All together she can say 15 words and 3 two word phrases. She has this little stuffed dog she loves to carry everywhere with her. She loves to draw and dance. She also loves playing outside and I can't wait to take her out in the snow.

We had an awesome Halloween weekend and I'll post pics on another post, and are anxiously preparing for thanksgiving, Peyton's birthday and Christmas. I'm super excited for this Christmas and birthday, cause I really think Peyton is going to enjoy it more.

Anyway that's really all I got to update right now.
