Breakfast with a Witch

Which is actually Breakfast with lots of Witches and was so much fun.
Saturday, Peyton and I got to go to this event at Gardner Village in West Jordan. We went with Grandma A, Aunt Tiana, Aunt Jenny and Baby Cousin Jaylee. We also ran into Heather and Sky Thomas and their 3 girls. It was a blast the breakfast portion was entertaining, then after we got to wander through the village, check out the little shops, and we got lots of pictures of Peyton. So prepare for picture overload. I can't wait to do this again with her when she is a little older.

Cola Chicken

Ok sorry it took awhile to post but here it is.

Cola Chicken

I made this the other night for me and Tavis and oh my gosh it was delicious!
It had a very nice carmel glaze to it. Amazing.

The Recipe:
2 cups Coca- Cola
1/3 c. Soy Sauce
1 tbs. Minced Garlic
1/2 c. Brown Sugar
1 tbs. Balsamic Vinegar
1 tbs. Lime Juice
6 Chicken Breasts
(I don't like C. Breasts cause of how fat they are so I used tenderloins, worked great)

* Combine all ingredients (but chicken) in bowl, stir well.
* Place Chicken in gallon size bag, pour marinade over chicken.
* Let marinade in Fridge for 4-24 hours (I let it marinade for 24 hours and it was bliss)
* Discard marinade, Grill, and Enjoy. :)

2 years down forever to go. :)

Yesterday, Tavis and I celebrated our 2nd year of marriage. Love is indescribable. We have had our ups and downs, but life is fantastic, especially now that we have our beautiful baby girl to complete our life.

Yesterday to celebrate (to say the least) was eventful. We had already planned on going and taking Peyton's 9 month pictures, and as we were getting ready for that.... Our Power got shut off! *sigh*
With no money to pay it, we continued to get ready and went to take her pictures. After taking her pictures we walked to the power company, to see if we could make a partial. With no luck we then walked to Community Action to ask for help, But there was so much paperwork we decided we would wait til we really needed the help and just got an advance from Tavis's work.
By the time we were done, we were exhausted. With power back on we called up Grandpa A to babysit and went to Zupa's followed by a pleasant walk along the river trail. It was so nice.

I love Tavis more than anything. He is my missing piece, the key to my heart, my absolute soul mate, without a doubt in my heart or mind he is the one I want to spend the rest of my life with, I see forever with him. :) I can't wait for forever.

Peyton is 9 months

Peyton turned 9 months on the 25th, and today we went to Peyton's 9 month well child check. Peyton now weighs 21 lbs 3.5 oz (86%), and she is 28.2 in long (72%). She is crawling, furniture cruising, walking while holding our fingers, is able to lower herself without support, but still has gotten standing on her own for very long.

9 things I love about my baby girl:

1- How she always wants to walk, but is afraid to do it herself.
2- The way she eats her baby food it always makes me laugh.
3- Her favorite person is daddy, she loves playing with him.
4- Her babbling, we have very funny conversations.
5- The way she knows what the camera is and what to do when it's pointed at her.
6- How she gives me this huge grin when I get her in the mornings from her crib.
7- On the rare occasion she cuddles with me, it's so adorable.
8- When she gets attitude and pouts her lip. OMG its so laughable.
9- Her curiosity, it makes me so happy, and i love love love it.

I love love love her. :-D

Brown Sugar Chicken

Last friday night, My older sister Jenn, Her husband and 2 of their 3 boys came down to dinner.
I had been digging up cool new recipes to try and decided on this one. After we all enjoyed it and thought it was amazing, I decided it was one the definitely needed to be shared.

Brown Sugar Chicken
Cortesy of realmomkitchen.com

Ingredients:

1 cup Brown Sugar
2 Tbsp. Honey Dijon Mustard
2 Cloves Garlic, finely minced
1 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Paprika
1/4 tsp. Black Pepper
1/4 tsp. Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
1 cup Lemon Lime soda (sprite, 7-up, etc)
1 1/2 Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts

Utensils:
-Mixing bowl
-Whisk
-Gallon size ziploc bag
-Grill

Directions:

1: Mix brown sugar, honey dijon mustard, minced garlic, salt, paprika, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and sprite in bowl. Whisking until sugar is mostly or completely dissolved. (I couldn't get it to dissolve completely)

2: Pour into a gallon size ziploc bag, Add chicken, marinade in fridge for at least an hour, turning over halfway through. (I marinaded for 2 hours turning it over at 30 minute intervals, Tasted amazing)

3: Carefully remove chicken from bag and place on grill over medium heat until fully cooked. (I saved some of the marinade and would periodically squirt some over the chicken while it was cooking to keep it moist.)
*It is also possible to bake in oven, directions for baking are:
Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 min or until fully cooked on a baking sheet.
